PyCForge 1.3.37 — Editor feedback and Save As corrections
Review build verified 2026-10-18

CORRECTIONS
Successful Save/Save As now presents the actual linked filename in the tab,
Source Bundle row, source header, breadcrumb and window title. The full path
remains available on the tab tooltip. Unsaved documents use their logical name.
The separate ID and LOGICAL fields retain conversion identity, so imports and
current conversion fingerprints are preserved. Different folders can contain
files with the same basename. Failed/cancelled writes retain the previous label.
Save completion projects the current snapshot even if its delivery was delayed;
a save finishing after a tab switch updates the correct document. Newer edits
made during a write remain dirty.

Automatic/requested call signatures use the existing bottom status strip in plain
text, including print(). They no longer cover the editor in a passive tooltip.
Clickable completion choices remain available by mouse, Enter and Tab. Context
changes retire hints without overwriting a newer conversion/status message.

The definition-name syntax rule formats only the identifier, leaving def/class
keyword colors intact. The block lexer respects strings, real comments, escaped
quotes, multiline string/comment state and UTF-16 offsets. Closing a multiline
string correctly restores following keywords, including after undo/redo.

Syntax-only formatting updates no longer count as text edits. Existing fold
regions, arrows, collapsed blocks and source markers survive a highlighting
refresh. Real text edits still invalidate ranges, reveal folded text as needed,
and refresh source analysis. Valid new/pasted functions receive arrows without
a transpile. Module switches, split views and rejected conversions were checked.

VERIFICATION
- 289 distinct source tests pass after final targeted reruns; no unresolved
failures or skips in this selected suite.
- 30 new editor-feedback regressions cover real Qt save, typing, syntax and folding.
- 110 distinct installed-package tests pass after the final breadcrumb correction.
  Two source-layout packaging checks were deselected only in the installed run;
they passed against the source tree.
- 871 installed application files byte-match the final wheel and source files.
- Scan-result and failed-conversion quick-diagnostic freshness checks pass.
- Existing completion acceptance, folding assistance, editor lifecycle, large-file
bounds, Save All/close handling, workspace navigation and C module-export checks
pass. The save suite includes 64-document batches and delayed/failing writes.
- All 28 Help pages passed the offline structure/link checks. Updated workspace
Help and actual editor views were rendered and visually inspected.
- All 136 converter files and 504 icon assets are byte-identical to v1.3.36.
No conversion coverage, runtime semantics, dependencies or theme artwork changed.
- README unchanged; SHA256: 81408b884ec93411cd88f9734cc8cffc79bcd65751bcdfe092ea33e41addb638

Evidence includes the v1.3.36 regression run and the corrected source/installed
results. A final Save As breadcrumb timing assertion initially exposed deferred
presentation; immediate bounded projection resolved it in both builds. Initial
failed cases are retained alongside their successful final reruns.

PLATFORM AND LIMITS
Verified on Linux with Python 3.12.14, PySide6/Qt offscreen, and GCC 13.3.0 for
conversion integration. Native Windows laptop interaction has not been exercised
here. The wheel is the platform-independent application package; its declared
Qt/numerical dependencies remain platform-specific.

Incomplete/invalid Python cannot supply new authenticated fold boundaries.
Existing anchored arrows remain presentation only until valid analysis returns.
The documented bounded large-file plain-text mode still disables syntax coloring
and folding. This release does not introduce tolerant parsing of broken modules.
