THE LICENCE

Everything in this repository -- the browser version in web/, the tests, and the
documentation -- is licensed under the PolyForm Noncommercial License 1.0.0, in
the LICENSE file beside this one.

Read it, learn from it, build on it, play with it. Any noncommercial purpose is
permitted, and that includes personal projects, teaching and research. What is
not permitted is commercial use: selling the game or a derivative of it,
shipping it inside a product, or running it as part of a business.

WHAT IS RESERVED OUTRIGHT

The game's name, the Roderick Tron and magmacrunch names and marks, the
character, and the visual design of the city and its palette.

Those are Copyright 2026 magmacrunch media, all rights reserved. They are in the
repository because the game is built from them, not because they are offered for
reuse -- the licence covers the software, and it grants no trademark rights.

THE MUSIC

"Roderick Tron", by Jimmi, from the album JIMMI (2026). A magmacrunch media
record label release rather than an outside licence, and reserved the same way
as everything in the section above.

The track is not stored in this repository. The browser build loads it from the
website's own copy at music/jukebox/songs/, so there is one file rather than
two that can drift apart.

The sound EFFECTS are not recordings at all. They are generated from oscillators
at runtime in web/js/sfx.js, so there is nothing to license, nothing to
download, and the note pickups can be pitched -- collecting a trail of notes
walks up a pentatonic scale, which is the closest this game gets to being about
what it is about.

THIRD-PARTY COMPONENTS

Press Start 2P, by CodeMan38, licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.
Loaded from Google Fonts by the page rather than shipped here as a file.

adenosine, the browser engine this game uses for audio, is Copyright 2026
magmacrunch media. It moved from the Apache License 2.0 to PolyForm
Noncommercial 1.0.0 on 2026-10-15, which is this game's licence too, so engine
and game now sit under one set of terms, in separate repositories. The change
is not retroactive: versions already published to npm under Apache 2.0 stay
available under it, and those are what the deployed page loads today.
