Terms — Self-Hosted Edition

This is a self-hosted application. When you install OpenConstructionERP on your own infrastructure, you operate it. DataDrivenConstruction is the author of the software, not a service provider for your installation.

1. License

OpenConstructionERP is open-source software licensed under AGPL-3.0 (Community Edition). The full license text ships with the source. A separate Commercial License is available for organisations that need to ship modifications without AGPL obligations — contact info@datadrivenconstruction.io.

2. Your Self-Hosted Installation

When you self-host OpenConstructionERP, you are responsible for:

Provisioning the server, database, and storage.
Server security, network access controls, and TLS termination.
Backups, disaster recovery, and data retention.
Compliance with the laws applicable to your business and your users (GDPR, CCPA, sector-specific regulations).
If you operate the app for end users (your team, your clients), you are the Controller / Operator under those regimes — publish your own privacy policy and terms for them.
Keeping the software updated. Security advisories are published in the project's GitHub repository.

3. AI Features

AI features (cost estimation suggestions, document classification, BOQ generation) are opt-in and require you to configure your own API key for OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google. Prompts go from your server directly to the chosen provider. You are responsible for the cost and the terms of those services.

AI suggestions are confidence-scored and never auto-applied — a human must always review and accept them. AI output is not guaranteed to be accurate; verify with professional judgment before committing to estimates or contracts.

4. CAD / BIM Converters

CAD converters (DDC cad2data) are downloaded from GitHub releases on first use. They run locally on your server. They are licensed separately under the DDC Community License — see the converter README for terms.

5. No Warranty, Limitation of Liability

OpenConstructionERP is provided "AS IS" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, DataDrivenConstruction disclaims all liability for damages arising from the use of the software, including but not limited to: incorrect cost estimates, data loss, downtime, or construction defects. The AGPL-3.0 license text controls in case of any conflict with this section.

6. Public Demo

The public demo at openconstructionerp.com is a separate service operated by DataDrivenConstruction for evaluation. Its terms are linked from that site. Demo data is periodically wiped — do not use the public demo for production.

7. Updates To These Terms

Changes ride along with new releases of OpenConstructionERP and are visible in the CHANGELOG. Continuing to use a new version means you accept the updated terms.
