My Claude Code is a local router. Your coding agents send their requests to this server, and it forwards each one to the provider and model you chose — your provider keys never leave this machine. Four essentials make it work; everything after them is optional.

Server or desktop app?

My Claude Code speaks Anthropic's API locally. Point your coding agent at this server, and it routes each request to whichever provider you configure below — your provider keys stay on this machine and never reach Anthropic or anywhere else.

There are two ways to run it, and this page is the same either way. The server with its web dashboard is what the one-line installer gives you: mcc-server plus the mcc-* agent launchers on your PATH, and this dashboard in a browser tab. The desktop app is a real window with its own icon and tray, downloaded as an installer from the release page — and it installs and starts the server for you on first launch, in front of you, then renders exactly this page inside itself. Neither excludes the other; the app is a window onto the server, not a second copy of it. If you are reading this in a browser tab you are on the first path, and mcc-desktop gets you the second without downloading anything else.

Which one should you pick? Take the server and this dashboard if MCC lives on a headless box, a VPS or behind SSH, if you work inside WSL (which has no tray), if you run it as a service or from CI, or if you simply prefer starting and stopping things yourself. Take the desktop app for everyday use: it installs the server if it is missing, starts it on launch, watches its health and reconnects on its own after an update, lives in the tray — closing the window puts it there, Quit in the tray menu ends it — and can start at login. Both share one configuration directory, one .env and this dashboard, both can sit on the same machine, and a desktop install still puts every mcc-* command on your PATH. One caveat worth knowing before you download: the macOS disk image is unsigned, so opening it directly needs a single xattr -d com.apple.quarantine command — letting mcc-desktop fetch the same binary skips that.
