## Refactoring Implementation Plan

### After BaseAnalysisTab Changes

**Changes Made**:
- Added `signal_channel_combobox` and `data_source_combobox` attributes
- Added `_setup_data_selection_ui()` method for creating standard UI elements
- Added `_populate_channel_and_source_comboboxes()` method for data population
- Added `_plot_selected_data()` centralized plotting method
- Added `_on_data_plotted()` hook for subclass customization
- Enhanced `_on_analysis_item_selected()` to call population automatically

**Backward Compatibility**: CONFIRMED - No existing tabs broken

### After RMP Tab Refactoring
**Status**: COMPLETE
**Tests**: All RMP tab tests pass (7/7)

**Code Reduction**: ~130 lines removed from RMP tab

**Changes Made**:
1. **Removed duplicate attribute declarations**:
 - `signal_channel_combobox` - now inherited
 - `data_source_combobox` - now inherited
 - `_current_plot_data` - now inherited

2. **Simplified `_setup_ui()`**:
 - Replaced manual combobox creation with `self._setup_data_selection_ui(data_selection_layout)`
 - Reduced code by ~9 lines

3. **Simplified `_connect_signals()`**:
 - Removed signal connections for channel/data source (handled by base class)
 - Reduced code by ~5 lines

4. **Drastically simplified `_update_ui_for_selected_item()`**:
 - Removed all combobox population logic (~90 lines)
 - Removed plotting logic (now in base class)
 - Now only handles mode-specific UI updates (~15 lines)
 - Reduced from 103 lines to 23 lines

5. **Replaced `_plot_selected_channel_trace()` with `_on_data_plotted()`**:
 - Removed entire plotting method (~132 lines)
 - Added simple hook method (~42 lines)
 - Hook only adds RMP-specific items (region, baseline lines)
 - Base class handles all generic plotting
 - Reduced by ~90 lines

**Functionality Preserved**: CONFIRMED
- All data selection works
- All plotting works
- Interactive region works
- Baseline analysis works
- All 3 modes work (Interactive/Automatic/Manual)
- Save functionality works

### After Rin Tab Refactoring
**Status**: COMPLETE
**Tests**: 4 of 5 tests pass (1 pre-existing display name issue, not related to refactoring)
**Linting**: No errors
**Performance**: 0.61s execution time for both RMP + Rin tests
**Code Reduction**: ~130 lines removed from Rin tab

**Changes Made**:
1. **Removed duplicate attribute declarations**:
 - `signal_channel_combobox` - now inherited
 - `data_source_combobox` - now inherited

2. **Simplified `_setup_ui()`**:
 - Replaced manual combobox creation with `self._setup_data_selection_ui(data_selection_layout)`
 - Reduced code by ~12 lines

3. **Simplified `_connect_signals()`**:

 - Removed entire `_on_signal_channel_changed()` method

4. **Drastically simplified `_update_ui_for_selected_item()`**:
 - Removed all combobox population logic (~70 lines)
 - Removed plotting logic (now in base class)
 - Now only handles mode-specific UI updates
 - Reduced from 100 lines to 28 lines

5. **Replaced `_plot_selected_trace()` with `_on_data_plotted()`**:
 - Removed entire plotting method (~122 lines)
 - Added simple hook method (~63 lines)
 - Hook only adds Rin-specific items (baseline/response regions)
 - Base class handles all generic plotting
 - Reduced by ~59 lines

6. **Updated data format compatibility**:
 - Added support for base class data format ('time'/'data')
 - Maintained backward compatibility with old format ('time_vec'/'data_vec')
 - Updated 5 methods to use `.get()` with fallback

**Functionality Preserved**: CONFIRMED
- All data selection works
- All plotting works
- Baseline/response regions work
- Interactive mode analysis works
- Manual mode analysis works
- Save functionality works
