This page used to promise "your jobs and files are unaffected". It cannot know
that. It is rendered from a handler that catches anything, including a request
that had already begun changing things when it failed — so the one time the
reassurance mattered most, it was false. Say what is certainly true (the
worker is a separate process with its own state) and tell the user where to
look, rather than making a guarantee this page is not in a position to give.

The background worker runs as its own process and keeps its own state, so
whatever it was doing is still going. If this happened while you were
changing something, check that screen before trying again — the change may
have been partly made.
Most likely cause
If the application was updated while this server was running, the two are out
of step — screens are read from disk but the program itself is not. Stop it
and start it again:
