create your journal

this is sol, part of solstone. sol keeps your journal.

your journal lives on this computer.

sol experiences your day with you and keeps it all here, in your journal. nothing else is required to start.

this is your journal

every journal has its own mark — two symbols and two words, unique to yours. you'll recognize it whenever you connect a device.

lock it in and this mark is your journal's, for good — it can't be changed later. try as many as you like first.

who are you?

optional — just helps sol know what to call you.

how should sol think?

sol needs a way to reason about your journal and answer you. pick one now — you can change it anytime in thinking.

use local thinking models
this computer can't run one yet — needs a supported GPU. requirements ↗
init captures your choice. when you finish setup, thinking opens to the lane you picked — paste your key, apply to scout, or turn on local there. the fork lives in thinking from now on.

skip for now — sol will keep your journal; choose how it thinks whenever you're ready.

your original media (raw audio and screencast files)

by default, your journal keeps your original media so you can access it again later. you can also expire originals after a number of days, or delete them as soon as they're processed. recording-consent laws may apply in your jurisdiction.
