A page inherits six things by extending this: the typefaces and the shared
stylesheet, so two apps cannot drift apart in looks; the header with the
logo; the token on the body, so its script can find it without being
handed it again; the tab-close signal, which would otherwise be a thing
each new app had to remember to send; dates written in the student's own
language, and the page laid out in its direction (direction.js); and sounds
played at the speed the student picks (player.html).
`header` adds to the header, beside the logo; `footer` is a bar held at
