# lmliheng-hello

A tiny demo package used to show an end-to-end PyPI release driven by GitHub Actions.

```python
from lmliheng_hello import say_hello
say_hello("PyPI")  # prints: Hello, PyPI!
```

Or from the shell:

```console
$ pip install lmliheng-hello
$ lmliheng-hello PyPI
Hello, PyPI!
```

## Releasing

Pushing a tag that starts with `v` triggers `.github/workflows/publish.yml`:
it runs the tests, builds an sdist and a wheel, checks the metadata with
`twine check`, and publishes the artifacts to PyPI with
[`pypa/gh-action-pypi-publish`](https://github.com/pypa/gh-action-pypi-publish).

```console
$ python -m build          # build locally
$ git tag v0.1.1 && git push origin v0.1.1   # release
```

The same workflow can be started by hand from the *Actions* tab
(`workflow_dispatch`).

## Development

```console
$ python -m pip install -e ".[test]"
$ pytest -q
```
