# MiniMindsLab Path Compress

Deterministically normalize and compress filesystem-like path strings by:

- collapsing repeated `/` separators,
- removing `.` segments,
- resolving `..` segments lexically (without filesystem access),
- preserving absolute (`/`) vs relative form.

## Installation

```bash
pip install minimindslab-path-compress
```

## Usage

```python
from minimindslab_path_compress import compress_path
compress_path("a//b/./c")        # "a/b/c"
compress_path("/a///b/../c")     # "/a/c"
compress_path("../../a/./b")     # "../../a/b"
compress_path("/")               # "/"
compress_path("")                # "."
```

## Behavior Notes

- Pure lexical normalization only; no filesystem reads/writes.
- Input must be a string; otherwise `TypeError` is raised.
- Uses `/` as the separator convention for deterministic cross-platform behavior.
