Third-party data

The bundled geoid grid is derived from the EGM96 Earth Gravitational Model,
produced by the U.S. National Imagery and Mapping Agency (NIMA, now the
National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency), NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, and
Ohio State University. As a work of the U.S. Government it is in the public
domain and carries no usage restrictions.

The 5' geoid dataset (egm96-5.pgm) is redistributed by GeographicLib
(https://geographiclib.sourceforge.io/), which is itself released under the MIT
license. The grid shipped in this package is regenerated from that dataset at
build time.
