Version 1.0
Copyright (c) 2024–2026 Guillaume Lessard. All Rights Reserved.

NOTICE: This software is source-available, not open source. By downloading,
installing, or using the QECTOR Decoder software (the "Software"), you agree
to be bound by the terms of this License. If you do not agree, do not use the
Software.

1. DEFINITIONS
   a) "Author" refers to Guillaume Lessard, the sole creator and copyright
      holder of the Software.
   b) "Software" refers to the QECTOR Decoder project, including its Python
bindings, compiled binaries (e.g., PyPI wheels), documentation, and any
associated artifacts, but explicitly excluding the proprietary Rust core
source code, which is injected via secure CI/CD pipelines.
   c) "Non-Commercial Use" refers to personal, academic, educational, or
non-profit research use where no fee is charged, and the output is not
used to directly or indirectly generate revenue or provide a commercial
      service.
   d) "Commercial Use" refers to any use by a for-profit entity, including but
not limited to: corporate research and development (R&D), startups,
laboratories affiliated with commercial entities, SaaS offerings, OEM
integration, product development, or any activity intended to generate
revenue or reduce commercial operational costs.

2. NON-COMMERCIAL GRANT OF LICENSE
Subject to the terms of this License, the Author grants you a non-exclusive,
non-transferable, revocable license to use, copy, and modify the Software
strictly for Non-Commercial Use. Academic and educational users may cite
the Software using the provided DOI references (e.g., via Zenodo).

3. COMMERCIAL USE RESTRICTION
COMMERCIAL USE OF THE SOFTWARE IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED WITHOUT A VALID,
   PAID COMMERCIAL LICENSE.
If your use case falls under "Commercial Use" as defined in Section 1(d),
you must obtain a commercial license from the Author prior to installation
or use. Commercial licenses, evaluation pilots, and source-review access
   are available at: https://qector.store/pricing
Inquiries must be directed to: admin@qector.store

4. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY & PROVENANCE
The Author retains all right, title, and interest in and to the Software,
including all intellectual property rights. The proprietary architecture
and performance benchmarks of the Software are formally archived and
timestamped (e.g., via Zenodo) to establish clear chain of title and
provenance. No rights are granted to the proprietary Rust core source code
outside of the terms of a separate, executed commercial agreement or NDA.

5. REDISTRIBUTION RESTRICTIONS
You may not distribute, sublicense, sell, or otherwise make the Software
(or any derivative works) available to third parties, except as explicitly
permitted for Non-Commercial academic collaboration. You may not strip,
alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or licensing notices contained
   within the Software.

6. MODIFICATIONS AND DERIVATIVE WORKS
You may create modifications or derivative works of the Python-level
interfaces for Non-Commercial Use, provided that:
   a) You clearly state that the work is derived from QECTOR Decoder.
   b) You do not claim endorsement by the Author.
   c) The derivative work remains subject to this same License.

7. NO WARRANTY
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR
IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY,
FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, SYNDROME FAITHFULNESS, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
THE AUTHOR DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR
   UNINTERRUPTED.

8. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
IN NO EVENT SHALL THE AUTHOR BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES, OR OTHER
LIABILITY, WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE, ARISING
FROM, OUT OF, OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR THE USE OR OTHER
DEALINGS IN THE SOFTWARE. THIS INCLUDES, BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO, LOSS OF
DATA, COMPUTATIONAL ERRORS, OR HARDWARE DAMAGE.

9. TERMINATION
This License is effective until terminated. Your rights under this License
will terminate automatically without notice from the Author if you fail to
comply with any term(s) of this License, particularly the Commercial Use
restrictions (Section 3). Upon termination, you must cease all use of the
Software and destroy all copies in your possession.

10. GOVERNING LAW
This License shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws
of the jurisdiction in which the Author resides, without regard to its
    conflict of law provisions.

11. SEVERABILITY
If any provision of this License is held to be invalid or unenforceable,
the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

12. ENTIRE AGREEMENT
This License constitutes the entire agreement between you and the Author
regarding the Non-Commercial use of the Software, superseding any prior
communications or agreements. Commercial use is governed exclusively by
    separate, written commercial license agreements.
