Serial settings dialog - layout options

Five proposals for the Devices panel settings dialog. The current dialog is first for comparison. Baud rate is one control in every proposal: an editable field that lists the standard rates and accepts a typed value, marking it Custom when the value is not standard. Toggle the theme at the top.

Current dialog

Labels sit far from their controls, the two baud controls compete, and the eye has no row band to follow. Kept for comparison.

A - shaded table

recommended

A real table with alternating row bands. Each row has one label and one control in a fixed column, so every value lines up. Baud rate is an editable field with the standard rates in its dropdown; a typed value shows the Custom badge.

B - Custom swaps in place

The literal request: a select of standard rates plus Custom. Choosing Custom replaces the select with an editable field in the same cell; leaving the field with a standard value folds it back into the select. Same shaded table as A.

C - compact grid

The same table idea without visible table chrome: a two-column grid with soft alternating bands, a narrower label column, and a live summary in the footer. Baud rate is the editable field with the rate list.

D - grouped sections

Two groups, Port and On open, each a shaded table. The grouping says what changes the wire and what changes the action when a program opens the port. Baud rate stays one editable field.

E - presets above the field

One shaded table plus a row of common-rate chips, the way a tool asks for a frequency: the chip sets the editable field, and typing anything else marks it Custom. The smartest of the five for the common cases.
