PYTHONBOTS CORE — LICENCE

This repository publishes the source of pythonbots-core so that anyone can read it, and so that
each release is a dated, public fact. Publication grants no rights: no licence to run, copy,
modify or redistribute the software is granted by this repository, by PyPI, or by any other
channel. A licence is issued only with an order, on the terms below, and is recorded in that
order's LICENSE-ADDENDUM.

Third-party components are listed in NOTICE and keep their own licences.

PYTHONBOTS CORE LICENSE — version 0.1 (draft)

Copyright (c) 2026 Luca Sacchi Ricciardi ("Licensor").

1. DEFINITIONS
"Core" means the Python distribution "pythonbots-core", delivered as the wheel file
in "wheels/" of the Delivered Work and installed from it, including its files, version,
manifest and migrations, as identified in the Addendum by version, manifest fingerprint
   and wheel sha256.
"Delivered Work" means the software delivered by the Licensor to the
Licensee under the order identified in the Addendum — that order and the
files attached to its delivery — together with every later evolution of
that same software made by or for the Licensee outside the Core.
"Licensee" means the person or entity identified in the Addendum.
"Instance" means one running copy of the Delivered Work, on any machine,
for any environment (production, staging, test).

2. GRANT
Subject to these terms, the Licensor grants the Licensee a perpetual,
   worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable (except under Section 6)
   licence to:
   (a) run the Core solely as a component of the Delivered Work, in any
       number of Instances;
   (b) copy the Core solely for backup and deployment of the Delivered Work;
   (c) read the Core's source for the purpose of operating, configuring and
extending the Delivered Work outside the Core.

3. RESTRICTIONS
The Licensee shall not, and shall not permit any third party to:
   (a) modify, adapt, translate or create derivative works of the Core, in
       whole or in part;
   (b) distribute, publish, sublicense, rent, lend or otherwise make the
Core available to any third party, except to contractors acting
solely on the Licensee's behalf to operate or extend the Delivered
       Work, who shall be bound by these terms;
   (c) use the Core, in whole or in part, in or as a basis for any software
other than the Delivered Work, including any other bot of the
       Licensee, whether commercial or not;
   (d) remove or alter any copyright, licence or version notice in the Core.
For clarity: everything in the Delivered Work outside the Core is owned
by the Licensee without restriction under this licence.

4. UPDATES AND SUPPORT
   (a) Corrective updates of the Core are provided at no charge until the
later of (i) the end-of-life date of the Core's major version, which
is twenty-four (24) months from that major version's release and is
stated in the Core itself (VERSION file, start-up log), and (ii)
twelve (12) months from delivery of the Delivered Work. The date
that applies to an order is stated in its Addendum. A corrective
update is one that restores behaviour the Core's changelog declares, or
compatibility with a platform or runtime version listed in the
Core's compatibility matrix; anything else is new functionality.
   (b) Corrective updates are delivered as a new release of the Core (a new wheel
file) with its migrations, to be applied by rebuilding the deployment
       delivered with the Delivered Work.
   (c) Support (questions, configuration, diagnosis) is provided for six (6)
months from delivery and may be extended for a fee.
   (d) New functionality of the Core (a later major version) is not included.
   (e) If, when the Licensee requests assistance, the Core is found to have
been modified (by its manifest or otherwise), the Licensor's
obligations under this Section end. The licence in Section 2 is not
       affected.

5. CONTINUITY (SURVIVAL) CLAUSE
If the Licensor (i) ceases business, or (ii) fails to respond to a
written request for a corrective update sent to the contact stated in the
Addendum within ninety (90) days, the Licensee obtains, from that moment,
the additional right to modify the Core, and to have it modified by
contractors on its behalf, solely for the internal use of the Delivered
Work. Section 3(b) and 3(c) remain in force.

6. TRANSFER
This licence may be transferred only together with the Delivered Work
and the business in which it is used, and only in its entirety; the
transferee is bound by these terms.

7. NO WARRANTY; LIABILITY
The Core is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. To the
extent permitted by law, the Licensor's liability under this licence is
limited to the amount paid for the order identified in the Addendum.

8. TERMINATION
The licence ends automatically if the Licensee breaches Section 3 and
does not cure the breach within thirty (30) days of written notice.
   Sections 3, 7 and 9 survive termination.

9. LAW AND FORUM
This licence is governed by the laws of Italy. The courts of Milan,
Italy, have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to mandatory
consumer-protection rules where applicable. The English text prevails.

10. RELATION TO THE MARKETPLACE
This licence is the statement, made on the seller's gig page and in the
delivered files, that ownership of the Core is NOT transferred to the
buyer under the marketplace's default terms. Ownership of everything
outside the Core is transferred to the buyer as those terms provide.

11. PLATFORM APPLICATION AND CREDENTIALS
The application registered with the messaging platform (the "Platform
Application"), and the credentials issued for it, belong to the Licensee.
The Licensee registers the Platform Application on its own developer
account or team before delivery begins, and accepts that platform's
developer terms in its own name. No credential of the Platform
Application is included in the Delivered Work.
Where the Licensor also operates the Delivered Work on the Licensee's
behalf, the Licensor does so as the Licensee's service provider, using
the Platform Application and its data only for the Licensee and at its
direction, and for no other purpose.
