# okin_gui
Organic Kinetic GUI. Contains simple tools for kinetic analysis and teaching.

## Install

### Base Version
- Create and activate a dedicated environment
- `pip install okin_gui`


### With Modeling
- make sure COPASI is installed (https://copasi.org/Download/)
- download and unzip 'python implementation of COPASI':
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1cVNLU4SBsz0JhC48MO69wVSLH-RpyIt6/view?usp=sharing
- OR clone github repo of 'python implementation of COPASI' `https://gitlab.com/heingroup/py_copasi`

- create a text file named `copasi_path.txt` in the folder you want to run the GUI from
- add the path to the previously downloaded 'python implementation of COPASI' to `copasi_path.txt` as plain text

#### Run from Python File
- make a python file that imports the gui with `import okin_gui`
- execute this file in the dedicated environment

#### Run from Terminal
- open a terminal in the folder with `copasi_path.txt`
- activate the dedicated environment
- enter python shell via: `python`
- in the python shell type: `import okin_gui`
