Sigillion licence terms

Version 1, 24 October 2026. Steddy Nova SRL, Brasov, Romania (trade register J2025042808005, CUI
51973580; contact info@sigillion.com) ("we", "us").

These terms cover Sigillion: the packages sigillion, sigillion-capture and sigillion-format, and everything in them
("the software"). By installing or using the software you accept them. If you use it for an organisation, you accept
them for it and confirm that you may.

1. What you may do
- Install and use the software on computers you own or control, for yourself or for your organisation's own work.
- Capture, which records your sessions into your store, is free, with no time limit.
- Reading back what was kept (the brief, search, recall and the other reading commands) is free for 30 days from your
first use: the trial. After it, reading needs a licence: a founder licence, or a paid plan (the plans and their
  prices: https://github.com/Sigillion-AI/sigillion).
- Export, at any time, with or without a licence, and after these terms end: sigillion-reader, in the sigillion-format
package, lists, verifies and extracts everything kept. Your data is never held back from you.
- Read the source of sigillion-format and sigillion-capture, which ship as readable source so that you can see what
  touches your transcripts.

2. What you may not do
- Copy, share, sell, rent or publish the software or a licence, or run the software for others as a service, except
  as these terms allow.
- Change the software, or get around its licence check or its trial.
- Take apart, decompile or reverse engineer the compiled engine, except where the law allows it and a contract cannot
forbid it (in the European Union, Articles 5 and 6 of Directive 2009/24/EC).
- Remove these terms or our notices from the software.
The source of sigillion-format and sigillion-capture is readable, not open source: reading it gives no right to use
it except as part of the software, under these terms.

3. Licences
- A licence is a line of text we sign, naming its holder, its plan and when it ends, if it does. It is checked on
your computer, offline. Keep it private: anyone who holds it could use it.
- A founder licence: the Pro plan for one person, with no end date, in every version we publish. It does not cover
services we run on our own servers for you (such as sync or team memory), which come with plans of their own.
- Team and enterprise plans: for the number of people (seats) the licence names.
- A licence can't be passed to someone else without our written agreement.

4. Your data
- What Sigillion stores stays on your computer and is yours. We receive no copy of it and claim no right to it. How
Sigillion handles it: the privacy note, https://github.com/Sigillion-AI/sigillion/blob/main/PRIVACY.md

5. Updates and support
- We may publish new versions; you choose whether and when to install them. Support: info@sigillion.com.

6. No warranty
- The software is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we give no warranty that it is free of errors or fit
for a particular purpose. Its redaction replaces secrets it recognises by their shape, and can miss others.
- If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms limits the rights the law of your country gives you, including the
legal guarantee for digital content you pay for.

7. Liability
- As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profit, and our whole
liability is limited to what you paid us for the software in the 12 months before the claim, or EUR 100 if that
  is more.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability for intent or gross negligence, for death or personal injury, or anything
else the law does not let us limit.

8. When these terms end
- They end at once if you break them; then you stop using the software. Exporting your data stays open to you
  (section 1).
- You may stop at any time: `sigillion uninstall`, then `pipx uninstall sigillion`. What was kept stays on your
  computer until you delete it.

9. Law and courts
- Romanian law applies, and the courts of Brasov, Romania. If you are a consumer in the European Union, you keep the
protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live, and may also go to its courts.

10. Changes
- We may change these terms for later versions; each version comes with the terms that apply to it.
