# Katagraph

A governed, evidence-backed memory layer for AI systems: explicit, versioned
memory objects with provenance, outcome-driven learning, and organization-owned
knowledge — independent of any single model vendor.

**Status: placeholder release.** The project is in its specification phase;
this package reserves the name for the reference implementation. The name comes
from ancient Greek *katagraphē* (καταγραφή) — an entry in an official register.
