FINAL REPORT
PORTABLE CHEST FILM ___ AT 5:55

CLINICAL INDICATION: ___-year-old with respiratory failure, assess for
 pulmonary process.

Comparison is made to the patient's prior study of ___ at 541.

Portable AP semi-erect chest film ___ at 5:55 is submitted.

 IMPRESSION:

 1. No evidence of pulmonary edema. Mediastinal contours appear less widened, likely due to differences in positioning and inspiration. Left internal jugular central line has its tip in the proximal SVC. There is a layering left effusion with associated airspace opacity most likely representing partial lower lobe atelectasis, although a superimposed infection cannot be entirely excluded. A nasogastric tube is seen coursing below the diaphragm with the tip not identified. Heart remains stably enlarged. No pneumothorax is appreciated. The pigtail catheter and basilar chest tube are also unchanged in position. The endotracheal tube has its tip approximately 4.5 cm above the carina.
