A production-grade automated security scanner that probes LLM-powered chatbots for the OWASP LLM Top 10 vulnerabilities using a dual-layer detection engine:

- **Layer 1 — Heuristic analysis**: Fast regex-based pattern matching against 88+ real-world attack payloads sourced from JailbreakLLMs and JailbreakBench
- **Layer 2 — LLM-as-a-Judge**: Optional secondary analysis using Groq's `openai/gpt-oss-120b` (120B parameters) to catch paraphrased compliance that regex cannot detect

## Installation

### From source (development)

## Installed Commands

After installation, three commands are available in your terminal:

## Setup (First Time)

## Scanning a Custom API Endpoint

The scanner sends an HTTP POST request to `{target}{endpoint}` with a JSON body and an API key header. All three values are configurable, allowing it to scan any REST-based chatbot.

### Default request format

### Changing the endpoint path
Use `--endpoint` to target a different URL path:

Some APIs use `prompt`, `query`, or `input` instead of `message`:

## Adding New Payload Categories

To add a new vulnerability category to the scanner:

### Step 1 — Create a payload YAML file

Create a file in the `payloads/` directory. The filename becomes the category name.

### Step 2 — Add detection rules (optional)

Open `detectors/heuristic.py` and add a new rule method to the `HeuristicDetector` class:

## LLM-as-a-Judge

When `--groq-key` is provided, a secondary detection layer is enabled using Groq's `openai/gpt-oss-120b` model.

**How it works:**
1. Heuristic layer runs first (fast, zero API cost)
2. If heuristic finds nothing, or confidence is below threshold, the judge is invoked
3. The judge receives the attack prompt and chatbot response, returns a verdict
4. Both layers' findings appear in the final report, each labelled by source
