# ophix-dbengine-cockroachdb

**Distributed, PostgreSQL-compatible, built for multi-region fleets — CockroachDB support for [Ophix](https://ophix.io).**

If your infrastructure already spans regions, or you need a database that survives a node going down without paging you at 3am, a single-instance engine isn't what you're looking for. `ophix-dbengine-cockroachdb` lets any Ophix server run against CockroachDB instead — install the plugin, set `DB_ENGINE=cockroachdb`, done.

Bundles `django-cockroachdb` and `psycopg2-binary`. CockroachDB is a PostgreSQL-compatible
distributed SQL database.

## Installation

```bash
pip install ophix-dbengine-cockroachdb
```

Set in `.env`:

DB_ENGINE=cockroachdb
DB_HOST=your-cockroachdb-host
DB_PORT=26257
DB_NAME=ophix_db
DB_USER=ophixuser

```
For TLS, set `DB_SSL_CA` to the path of your CA certificate.
