# synapse-runtime-sdk-video

The H.264 encoder/decoder for [synapse-runtime-sdk](../py): libx264 (CPU) and h264_nvenc (NVIDIA) through a bundled
FFmpeg 8.1 (GPL; its licence ships inside the wheel as `FFMPEG-LICENSE.txt`). Install it as the extra:

```sh
pip install "synapse-runtime-sdk[video]"
```

Then `synapse_sdk.media.HAS_CODEC` is true and `H264Encoder`, `H264Decoder`, `TestPattern`, `VideoPublisher`,
`VideoSubscriber` work. Linux x86_64 only for now.
