> ## ⚠️ This package is deprecated
>
> **Do not adopt `oxaigen` in new work.** It is no longer documented in the Oxaigen
> Knowledge Base, and it is not maintained alongside the supported SDKs.
>
> Existing projects that import it continue to work, but new code should not.

## What to use instead

| If you need | Use |
| --- | --- |
| Authentication / authorisation in a FastAPI backend | [`oxaigen-auth`](../oxaigen_auth) |
| Authentication / authorisation in a React frontend | [`@oxaigen/react`](../../javascript/oxaigen_react) |
| Platform data, storage or job access | The ClientAPI directly — see the Knowledge Base **API reference** |

Both supported SDKs are documented in the Knowledge Base at
`https://docs.<your-client>.oxaigen.com`, under **Building on Oxaigen**.

## Do not use this package for authentication

`oxaigen` re-exports its own copy of the authentication code (`get_current_user`,
`OxaigenAuthMiddleware` and others). **That copy is outdated and not equivalent to
`oxaigen-auth`**: its user model is still an unfinished placeholder and it has no
support for local development mode.

Importing auth from here will appear to work and then behave differently from every
other application on the platform. Use [`oxaigen-auth`](../oxaigen_auth).
