Screen Schedule

Turning the screen off when nobody looks saves energy and screen life. Changes are saved right away.

{% set mode = settings.display_control.mode if settings.display_control.mode in ("manual", "interval", "wake") else "manual" %}

{% if mode == "manual" %}The screen is always on, unless you turn it off yourself.{% elif mode == "interval" %}On between the times below. Outside them the screen is off, but it can still be woken for a while (see Waking the screen).{% else %}The screen is off and only lights up when something wakes it: someone in front of the mirror, the button, or a call from e.g. Home Assistant. Saves the most energy and screen life.{% endif %}

Active Start Time
: {% if time_format == "12h" %} {% endif %}
Active End Time
: {% if time_format == "12h" %} {% endif %}
{% set wake = settings.display_control.wake or {} %} {% set extend = wake.extend if wake.extend is defined else true %}
Waking the screen

When the screen is off, something can wake it for a while. Afterwards it turns off again by itself.

How the time is counted

{% if presence_sensors %}Uses: {{ presence_sensors | join(", ") }}.{% else %}No motion or presence sensor is connected. Add a PIR or mmWave sensor under Hardware → Sensors & Inputs.{% endif %}

Also wakes it: the push button (if one of its presses is set to "Wake the screen"), the Turn Screen ON button below, and other systems such as Home Assistant: POST http://mirrordash.local/admin/screen
{"state": "on"}
wakes it for the time above
{"state": "on", "timeout_minutes": 2}
wakes it for 2 minutes, for just this call
{"state": "off"}
turns it off right away

Screen Right Now

Turn the screen on or off right now. When the setting above has the screen off, ON wakes it for the screen timeout. Reload Screen loads the mirror's page again, for example if it looks wrong.

Restart & Shut Down

Restart MirrorDash takes a few seconds and is usually enough when something looks wrong. Restart Mirror restarts the whole Raspberry Pi (about a minute), needed after connecting sensors. Shut down before unplugging, so the SD card is never damaged. A button connected under Hardware can do the same.
