PyCForge Checkpoint E / v0.14.4 Project Handoff
================================================

STATUS
------

Hardening Checkpoint E is promoted and sealed.

Installable package version: 0.14.4
Deterministic converter contract: 0.14.3
Workspace contract: pycforge-workspace/0.2
Immediate rollback: sealed Phase 14D / 0.14.3

PyCForge remains a Python-to-C source transpiler. Its terminal product artifact
is deterministic C11 source. It does not compile, assemble, link, load, run,
execute, debug, profile, benchmark, or deploy generated C. No C toolchain was
invoked by this checkpoint.

PRODUCT IDENTITY
----------------

The front-facing application and workspace identity is PyCForge. No alternate
theme-derived product, component, workspace, mode, schema, or feature name is
retained in the current source tree. Active titles, accessibility identity,
toolbar, theme exports, and settings use PyCForge.

Original pre-migration records remain authoritative in the authenticated Phase
15A archive.

CHECKPOINT E RESULT
-------------------

Checkpoint E completes the Revision 3.1 post-Phase-14 hardening boundary:

1. Full architecture and product-boundary review passed.
2. The complete frozen semantic matrix was reconciled and executed.
3. The full supported subset was fuzzed deterministically across every
   promoted family.
4. Exact behavior was compared with the authenticated Phase 14D source tree.
5. Documentation, workspace identity, release validation, and packaging
   custody were reconciled.

No Python construct, context, diagnostic meaning, C IR shape, helper,
converter policy, schema, rule-set, renderer, generated-C style, or output
fingerprint contract was added or changed.

EXECUTABLE MATRIX EVIDENCE
--------------------------

Frozen feature matrix:

  schema: pycforge.feature-matrix/0.14.3
  entries: 69
  supported: 37
  unsupported: 31
  deferred: 1
  unlisted-default witnesses: 1

All 37 supported entries converted and passed independent generated-C text
conformance. The 31 unsupported entries, deferred Match entry, and unlisted
Try default witness rejected without publishing C. There were zero
matrix-contract mismatches and zero witness errors.

Matrix report SHA-256:

FULL-SUBSET AND PREDECESSOR EVIDENCE
-----------------------------------

The promotion corpus contains 16 fixed cases and 64 seeded generated cases.
Each of the 16 promoted families receives four generated cases. The generated
set explicitly includes eight fixed-container-iteration witnesses and four
floating-division witnesses.

Each case is checked for repeated byte determinism, observer invariance, and
leading-comment, CRLF, and blank-line metamorphic stability. The gate performs
480 public-converter calls, including 240 metamorphic conversions.

Promotion corpus SHA-256:
  b42f01c16cdeb466c9f690ce67be1bee3fe20f136f87b05746ba240d2b1701d5

The sealed predecessor archive is:

  pycforge_phase_14d_v0_14_3.tar.gz
  1,282,543 bytes
  SHA-256:
  13228fe8e40c89335cf1bb6c44a2ebb94bc581e287873520b7c530984053c4f1

It is authenticated before private temporary extraction. An isolated
Python -I -S runner converts the same 80 cases and returns canonical JSON.
Candidate and predecessor result_to_json bytes match for 80 of 80 cases.

Candidate and predecessor aggregate result SHA-256:
  e4ad127d681523c71fdb3fad15764bc657a88eeb77a7c45a869c6f2a69e21b86

No pickle, native command, compiler, linker, loader, foreign-function call, or
generated-C execution is used.

TEST AND AUDIT EVIDENCE
-----------------------

Final cumulative suite:

  discovered: 589
  passed: 572
  expected skips: 17
  failed: 0

Expected skips are 12 real-PyQt tests because PyQt5 is unavailable in the
release environment and five older custody-artifact tests. The focused
Checkpoint E set passes 46 of 46.

All source-only audits pass:

  architecture
  rules
  helpers
  containers
  modules
  records
  numeric
  conditional
  keyword
  keyword-only
  determinism
  Phase 14A transition
  Phase 14B transition
  Phase 14C transition
  Phase 14D transition

RELEASE ARTIFACTS

Canonical deliverables:

  pycforge_checkpoint_e_v0_14_4.tar.gz
  pycforge-0.14.4-py3-none-any.whl
  PyCForge_Checkpoint_E_v0_14_4_Project_Handoff.txt
  PyCForge_Checkpoint_E_v0_14_4_Package_Report.json
  PyCForge_Checkpoint_E_v0_14_4_Checksums.json

The external package and checksum reports are authoritative for exact artifact
sizes and SHA-256 values; source-archive size and hash are intentionally not
embedded in the source archive.

The release builder compares two fixed-epoch wheel builds and two normalized
source-archive builds byte-for-byte. It requires the exact two PyCForge console
entry points, Python >=3.11 metadata, all 17 SVG assets, zero native binaries,
complete RECORD coverage, isolated wheel installation, extracted-source
smokes, headless CLI smokes, and the sealed release-tree fingerprint.

REPRODUCTION
------------

From the extracted source root, with the authenticated Phase 14D archive
available:

python -m unittest discover -s tests

  python -m unittest \
    tests.test_checkpoint_e_audits \
    tests.test_checkpoint_e_feature_matrix \
    tests.test_checkpoint_e_predecessor_equivalence \
    tests.test_checkpoint_e_release_packaging \
    tests.test_checkpoint_e_versioning \
    tests.test_validate_checkpoint_e

  python tools/validate_checkpoint_e.py \
    --mode sealed \
    --predecessor-archive /absolute/path/to/pycforge_phase_14d_v0_14_3.tar.gz \
    --fuzz-cases 64

  python tools/build_checkpoint_e_release.py \
    /fresh/external/output/directory

Validation is source-only. Do not add a compiler or generated-C execution step
to these commands.

WORKSPACE QUALITY CONTRACT AND NON-CLAIMS
-----------------------------------------

Checkpoint E accepts and freezes the Phase 15 workspace architecture and
quality budgets. It does not claim that the future implementation already
exists.

Not implemented or claimed in 0.14.4:

  process-isolated conversion worker
  process-level hard cancellation
  maximum-input no-freeze evidence
  virtualized large-result projections
custom gradient/icon main and context menus
  complete IDE-grade authoring and inspection
  current visible PyQt accessibility evidence
Windows 11 or visible Linux platform evidence

These remain 11 explicitly owned debt items assigned to bounded Phase 15A-D
stages. Generated C remains read-only; the closed SourceBundle remains the
only source universe. There is no run, build, debug, terminal, plugin,
project-explorer, toolchain, host-discovery, or generated-C editing surface.

NEXT AUTHORIZED BOUNDARY
------------------------

Checkpoint E opens neither Phase 14E nor Phase 15.

The next separately authorized work is Phase 15A:

  responsiveness and process isolation
  one-active/one-latest-pending scheduling
  bounded cooperative and hard cancellation
  revision/index services
  maximum-input no-freeze evidence

Phase 15B then owns the PyCForge visual/action/menu system, Phase 15C owns the
IDE-grade transpiler workspace, and Phase 15D owns distribution and real
platform validation. Every stage must preserve the exact direct-converter
contract and the no-toolchain boundary.
