iOpenPod: license, credits, and source
Copyright 2025–2026 John Gibbons.
iOpenPod is free software licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 3 or, at your option, any later version. You may use, study, modify, and redistribute it under those terms. The app is provided without warranty to the extent permitted by law. All features are free; optional donations do not change your rights or unlock functionality.
The complete GPL text and third-party notices are supplied with the application. Third-party components retain their own copyrights and applicable licenses. The developer imposes no additional restrictions on rights granted by the GPL.
Source and build materials
Each public Windows release must provide its matching iOpenPod source, build instructions, dependency sources required by their licenses, and third-party notices. Those materials are distributed alongside the version they describe. The private development repository is not a source-download option for users.
The iOpenPod Windows Store release is being prepared. Its exact-version source downloads will be linked here before the app is publicly distributed. For source availability questions, contact johngibbons167@gmail.com. This paragraph is a pre-release status notice, not a substitute for supplying required source.
Acknowledgements
The application icon was designed by DJShott and is used with the creator's permission for future iOpenPod updates. That artwork has separate, asset-specific permission; it is not relicensed under the software's GPL grant. No permission for unrelated standalone use or relicensing of the icon is asserted. The supplied LICENSES/DJShott-icon.txt preserves the permission and identifies the master.
Special thanks to Dylan Staley (@dstaley) for the HASHAB WebAssembly implementation used to finalize compatible iPod databases. Its original notice is retained in the app.
An honorary thank-you to the libgpod and gtkpod contributors for their pioneering iPod support, documentation, and the references this project learned from.
The distribution's acknowledgement and license files identify the other projects and assets used by iOpenPod. User-installed FFmpeg, FFprobe, and Chromaprint executables are separate software. Qt's playback libraries remain included and are covered by the bundled notices and source materials.
