Compatibility

Version 1.0.0 targets:

  • Python >=3.11;
  • Thonny >=5.0,<6;
  • pseudocode-i18n>=1.0.0,<1.1;
  • pseudocode-i18n-languageserver>=1.0.0,<1.1;
  • pygments-lexer-pseudocode-i18n>=1.0.0,<1.1.

Thonny 4 is intentionally unsupported. The adapter targets the stable Thonny 5 editor, completion, calltip, command, syntax-coloring and navigation APIs.

Thonny 5 stable does not expose a generic arbitrary-language LSP proxy, so the plugin contains a small stdio JSON-RPC transport client. Language semantics remain outside the plugin in pseudocode-i18n / pseudo-lsp; a future stable Thonny generic LSP proxy can replace this transport without changing the language.

Python is not embedded. Installing the one thonny-pseudocode-i18n package lets pip resolve the core/LSP/Pygments dependencies normally.
