Help for Advance 802.1Q VLAN Status

• Advanced 802.1Q VLAN Status - Click Enable or Disable to set the Advanced 802.1Q VLAN Status. Note: The current VLAN settings are lost if the status is changed.

Help for Advanced 802.1Q VLAN Identifier Setting

• VLAN ID - Specify the VLAN Identifier for the new VLAN. The range of the VLAN ID is 1 to 4094. User can create a maximum of 64 VLANs.
• Port Members - The ports that are included in the VLAN.
• Add - Add a new VLAN to the switch.
• Delete - Delete selected VLANs from the switch.

Help for VLAN Membership

• VLAN ID - Select the VLAN ID for which you want to display or configure.
• Group Operation - This field allows you to apply the same operation on all ports.
  • Untag All - Select all the ports to be included in this VLAN where all frames transmitted will be untagged.
  • Tag All - Select all the ports to be included in this VLAN where all frames transmitted will be tagged.
  • Remove All - Remove all ports from the selected VLAN.
• Ports - You can use this port list to add or remove port member to the selected VLAN. Each port has three modes:
  • T(Tagged) - All frames transmitted from this port will be tagged with selected VLAN ID.
  • U(Untagged) - All frames transmitted from this port will not be tagged with VLAN ID.
  • Blank - This port is not a member of the selected VLAN.

Help for PVID Configuration

• Port - The port you want to configure.
• PVID - Specify the VLAN ID you want assigned to untagged or priority tagged frames received on this port. The factory default is 1.

Help for Management VLAN

• Management VLAN ID - Specifies the management VLAN ID of the switch. It may be configured to any value in the range of 1-4094. The management VLAN is used for management of the switch.

Help for Basic 802.1Q VLAN Status

• Basic 802.1Q VLAN Status - Click Enable or Disable to set the Basic 802.1Q VLAN Status. Click the Apply button. Note: The current VLAN settings are lost if the status is changed.

Help for Basic 802.1Q VLAN Identifier

• VLAN ID - Under each port to be added to a VLAN, enter the VLAN ID of the VLAN. You can enter a VLAN ID from 1 to 4093 or all. VLAN group ID all means that this is the port that you want to use for all existing VLANs. Note: If ports are members of the same LAG, you must assign them to the same VLAN.

Help for Management VLAN

• Management VLAN ID - Specifies the management VLAN ID of the switch. It may be configured to any value in the range of 1-4093. The management VLAN is used for management of the switch.

Help for Access Control

• Access control allows access to the switch by a single or range of specified IP addresses by mask. Use 255.255.255.255 as the mask for a single specified IP address.

Help for Broadcast Filtering

• Broadcast Filtering - You can configure the switch to block broadcast storms (massive transmission of broadcast packets forwarded to every port on the same VLAN). If they are not blocked, broadcast storm packets can delay or halt the transmission of other data. When you turn on broadcast filtering, you have the option to set the storm control rate on each port of your switch.

Help for Cable Tester

You can use the cable diagnostic feature to easily find out the health status of network cables. If any problems exist, this feature helps quickly locate the point where the cabling fails, allowing connectivity issues to be fixed much faster, potentially saving technicians hours of troubleshooting. If an error is detected, the distance at which the fault is detected is stated in meters.(This is the distance from the port.) The cable length reported by the test may have a tolerance.

• Test Results - Indicates the test results of the cable. Possible results are:
  • Crosstalk: There is an interpair short on the cable.
  • Failed: An error occurred while conducting the cable test. Try again.
  • No Cable: The cable does not exist or the cable length is too small to test accurately.
  • Not Supported: The test is not supported on this port.
  • Mismatch: There is a mismatch with the cable impedance. Replace the Ethernet cable, and then try again.
  • OK: The cable is working correctly.
  • Open Cable: The cable is disconnected or there is a faulty connection.
  • Short: There is an electrical short in the cable.
  • Open short: Both disconnect and electrical short are detected in the cable.
• Cable Fault Distance - Indicates the distance (in meter) from the failed point on the cable.
