{#- Landing-page quick start: three steps from nothing to the first dictated sentence, per operating system. Included by overrides/home.html, directly under the hero. The OS tabs share one selection with the hero's install switcher (landing.js picks the visitor's OS locally from the user agent; nothing is sent). Every command and every permission step here is the one the matching install guide gives — if you change one, change the guide too: Linux docs/install-linux.md (install.sh prints the same three next steps) macOS docs/macos-install.md (Gatekeeper, Accessibility, Input Monitoring, Microphone) Windows docs/windows-install.md (winget, SmartScreen, tray, Right Ctrl) -#} {% macro ic(name) -%} {%- endmacro %}

Quick start

From zero to your first dictated sentence

Three steps, a few minutes, no account. The speech model downloads once; after that, dictation never touches the network.

  1. Install

    bash <(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/MSKazemi/yazses/main/install.sh)

    One command for Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora, Arch and their relatives. It installs YazSes plus the audio, hotkey and typing helpers your session needs, then runs yazses doctor.

    APT, Snap or pipx instead →
  2. Allow and check

    yazses doctor
    yazses mic-level --set

    If doctor says you were added to the input group, log out and back in once. mic-level --set tunes the voice gate to your microphone and room.

    Something flagged? →
  3. Dictate

    yazses start

    Now hold Right Alt, speak, and release. The words are typed wherever your cursor is, in any app, on X11 or Wayland.

    Use a different key →
