PyCForge 1.3.33 — Universal matte interface verification
Verified 2026-10-18 UTC

The release applies a brighter graphite matte finish across shared controls,
menus, dialogs, scan panels/popups, startup reports, offline Help, and Ting
viewers. Solid fills replace the former gradients. The gray harpy eagle,
steel-blue C lettering, rounded functional icons, and accessible control states
form one visual system. All 56 catalogue icons ship as PNG in nine sizes:
16, 20, 24, 32, 48, 64, 96, 128, and 256 px (504 assets). Small eagle placements
use a simplified master; full masters and the QPainter icon builder are in the
source distribution. No SVG resources are shipped.

Dialog behavior
- Fixed against user resizing: About, startup progress, editor settings,
Go to Line, rename prompts, and guarded confirmation choices.
- Resizable without maximize: Command Palette, Classes & Functions, Run Python,
  Compile C, and restoration/startup reports.
- Resizable with maximize/restore: Help, file/project choosers, Python scan
results, edit previews, project history, and Ting feedback/flow viewers.
- Maximize and Close are on the right. The Classes & Functions Copy action also
sits on the right, with stable title feedback and no moving controls.
- Startup progress refits its own longer stage/failure messages while remaining
fixed against user resizing. About keeps compact-screen content within its
viewport and exposes the exact registry fingerprint in a read-only field.
- Deferred focus restoration is owned by the dialog; startup reports initially
focus their content. Existing Tools and quick-view freshness/navigation rules
  remain intact.

Final verification results
- 860 unique source test cases covered: 850 passed, 10 skipped, zero unresolved
failures. Counts combine the broad Qt selection, changed contract/resource
tests, theme/layout probes, and targeted correction reruns; repeats and test
  renames are deduplicated in combined-current-tests.json.
- The broad Qt run originally exposed startup sizing and old UI expectations.
Startup refitting was fixed. Tests now construct fixed prompts before showing,
expect Copy on the right and 56 icons, and sample actual button image heights.
All affected cases passed in the correction run (85 passed, 1 skipped).
- Final installed wheel: 122 passed, no failures or skips. This includes scan
panels, Tools split access, diagnostics navigation, stale-result invalidation,
owner cleanup, symbol navigation, startup sizing, and new matte/dialog checks.
- 150% scaling: 54 passed, including actual matte button pixels, independent
resize/maximize behavior, title controls, focus, and theme contracts.
- Startup layout: logo, descenders, complete failure feedback, and Close remain
visible at 11, 14, and 18-point UI fonts.
- Actual installed application: 20 dialog presentations plus the workspace,
quick-result popup, diagnostics menu, Tools menu, and icon sheet captured.
- All 26 packaged HTML Help pages rendered; the updated appearance/dialog policy
section and existing local navigation are available offline.
- All 504 PNG assets decoded with correct dimensions and alpha. All 868 installed
application files match the candidate source byte-for-byte. The wheel contains
878 members, with exact inventory, RECORD hashes, metadata, and dependencies
checked by tools/verify_public_distribution.py. The source archive is checked
against its exact inventory and source bytes after packing.
- Measured palette contrast ratios: body text 10.98:1, secondary text 9.18:1,
muted text 6.58:1, disabled text 5.28:1, and progress text on its fill 5.77:1.
These measurements are specific color-pair checks, not an accessibility
certification. Focus, pressed/checked, and semantic feedback remain visible.

The 10 skips concern three PCFC11-specific build checks without PCFC11_PATH,
one missing-PySide6 scenario in an environment where PySide6 is installed,
and six historical sealed-predecessor checks without those archived inputs.

Preservation and platform limits
The 135 converter files, 10 Python-check engine files, and 16 build-engine files
are byte-identical to 1.3.32. The full native conversion audit from 1.3.32 was
not repeated for this UI release. README.md is also byte-identical:
81408b884ec93411cd88f9734cc8cffc79bcd65751bcdfe092ea33e41addb638
HTML Help, active release metadata, and review notes were updated.
Dependencies and conversion contracts are unchanged.

Validation used Linux x86_64, Python 3.12.14, PySide6 6.12.0, and Qt's offscreen
platform. Native Windows window-manager behavior and visual acceptance on
physical displays remain to be reviewed on Windows. Existing platform-specific
limits from the prior release still apply.

Evidence
The source archive includes evidence/matte_theme_1_3_33 with the broad and
correction logs/XML, deduplicated results, installed-wheel checks, resource and
engine comparisons, environment details, actual UI captures, and dialog policy
matrix. docs/design contains the eagle masters and build notes.
