MatMelt is released under the MIT License, copyright © 2026 Quantum ARISE. You may use, modify and redistribute it, including in commercial and closed work, provided the copyright notice and the licence text below travel with it. There is no warranty.

Note

The licence covers MatMelt itself — the CLI, the orchestrator, the stage contracts and the runner scripts it ships. It does not cover the scientific software a run depends on. SMACT, PyXtal, MACE, torch, ASE, AiiDA and DFTB+ are installed by you, from their own projects, under their own licences, and any foundation model you download carries its own terms. If you redistribute a whole environment rather than MatMelt alone, those are the terms to check. The tool and the science stack lists exactly which of them a given configuration needs.
