LicenseRef-COD-Public-Domain

This identifier records the Crystallography Open Database (COD) contributor
public-domain dedication for crystallographic data. It does not describe the
license of journal article text, figures, COD-tools program code, or unrelated
commercial crystallographic databases.

Policy source: S. Grazulis et al., Crystallography Open Database (COD): an
open-access collection of crystal structures and platform for world-wide
collaboration, Nucleic Acids Research 40, D420-D427 (2012),
https://doi.org/10.1093/nar/gkr900 , PMCID PMC3245043. Its data-deposition section
states that published and personal-communication structural data deposited to
COD are put into the public domain. Original COD CIF notices also identify the
COD and request proper attribution of the originating scientific articles.

The fixture export retains COD IDs, original scientific references, snapshot
commit and source-text hashes. Only crystallographic cell and atom-site data
are exported. Contact details, local processing paths and unrelated CIF text
are omitted. Source files are read from the pinned COD-tools test snapshot,
with transformations explicitly recorded. No claim is made that the processed
fixtures are byte-identical to a current COD server response.

Independently generated ideal-prototype coordinates and new numerical validation
results are CC0-1.0. The generator and validation software are GPL-3.0-or-later.
