Jupyter Lecture Studio

Turn lesson content into a consistent teaching experience.

Jupyter Lecture Studio is a Python library for animated lecture covers, explanation cards, code examples, concept diagrams and reveal activities in Jupyter. Export the same components to a standalone HTML file with embedded fonts and no network requirement.

Write your explanation once. Reuse the visual identity across programming, AI, databases and other subjects. Arabic RTL and English LTR content share the same component API.

python -m pip install "jupyter-lecture-studio[notebook,highlight]"
from jupyter_lecture_studio import LectureDeck

deck = LectureDeck(course="Python Programming", direction="ltr")
deck.cover("Names and values", "Connect familiar ideas to Python.")
deck.slide("Rebinding a name", cards=[
    {"title": "Observe", "code": "value = 10\nvalue = 'ten'"},
    {"title": "Explain", "explanation": "The name now refers to a different object."},
])

The library displays code examples; it does not execute code inside cards. Student exercises belong in ordinary Jupyter code cells. The core HTML renderer has no required dependencies; notebook display uses the optional IPython extra.
