# context7-mcp (security placeholder)

**This is not Context7.** This package only prints a warning and exits with an error code.

## Why does it exist?

OpenClaw suggests {"command":"uvx","args":["context7-mcp"]} in its CLI hint and docs, but Context7 is published on npm as @upstash/context7-mcp. No Python package of this name existed on PyPI. Anyone could have registered the name, and every agent with that configuration would have run their code at startup, without a prompt.

## What it does

Nothing, apart from printing a warning to stderr and exiting with code 1. No dependencies, no network access.

## If you see the warning

Use the official package instead: "command": "npx", "args": ["-y", "@upstash/context7-mcp"], see https://github.com/upstash/context7.

## For the maintainers of OpenClaw and Context7

The name is yours whenever you want it. Open an issue or contact me, and I will transfer it right away.
