NOTE: OpenBLAS IS bundled in the Linux release archives, alongside its own
dependency closure. It used to be dynamically linked and left to the user,
which is what CrispASR #296 fixed — the loader failed before main() on any
machine without it. This paragraph said otherwise until 2026-08-10.

────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
GNU OpenMP runtime — libgomp (https://gcc.gnu.org/)
GPL-3.0-or-later WITH GCC-exception-3.1 (GCC Runtime Library Exception)
────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

The Linux release archives bundle `libgomp.so.1`, the OpenMP runtime that ships
with GCC, because GGML is compiled with OpenMP enabled and the library is absent
from minimal installs.

CrispASR's own source remains under the MIT licence in LICENSE. The GCC Runtime
Library Exception grants permission to propagate the compiled result of
combining this runtime with independent modules under any licence, provided all
target code was produced by Eligible Compilation Processes — which GCC is. The
exception is what makes an MIT-licensed binary linking libgomp unproblematic;
it does not change the licence of libgomp itself.

Redistributing the `libgomp.so.1` FILE is separately a conveyance of a
GPL-3.0-or-later work, and carries the corresponding-source obligation of
GPLv3 section 6. The bundled copy is the unmodified library from the GCC
package of the distribution the release was built on (Ubuntu 22.04, `gcc-12`).
Complete corresponding source for that exact build is available from Ubuntu's
source archive (`apt-get source gcc-12`) and from https://gcc.gnu.org/, and the
CrispASR maintainers will provide it on request for three years from the date
of the release that carried it — open an issue at
https://github.com/CrispStrobe/CrispASR.

https://www.gnu.org/licenses/gcc-exception-3.1.html

────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
LLVM OpenMP runtime — libomp (https://openmp.llvm.org/)
Apache License 2.0 WITH LLVM-exception
────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

The Linux HIP/ROCm release archives bundle `libomp.so`, the LLVM OpenMP runtime.
ROCm's compiler is clang, so `-fopenmp` resolves to LLVM's runtime rather than
GCC's, and it lives under `/opt/rocm/lib/llvm/lib` — a directory the dynamic
loader does not search, so it must travel with the binaries (CrispASR #339).

Unmodified. Apache-2.0 with the LLVM exception is a permissive licence; it
imposes no copyleft on CrispASR's MIT-licensed source and no source-availability
obligation on this redistribution. Licence text and the exception:

OmniVoice prompt vocabularies (https://github.com/k2-fsa/OmniVoice)
Apache License 2.0
────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

Copyright 2026 Xiaomi Corp. (authors: Han Zhu)

third_party/omnivoice/lang_map.py and third_party/omnivoice/voice_design.py are
verbatim, unmodified copies of omnivoice/utils/lang_map.py (commit
c8c0a6257b9b652dc7d239df9d911dbb1f9dabdf) and omnivoice/utils/voice_design.py
(commit 9c3ab463713d15e94e252f468ac02f55bdba640b). The Apache-2.0 headers and
copyright notices are retained in the files themselves.

They are vendored as the generator inputs for src/core/omnivoice_lang_table.h
(the ISO 639-3 language ids) and src/core/omnivoice_instruct_table.h (the
voice-design instruct vocabulary) — the two literal vocabularies the OmniVoice
prompt is conditioned on — so that the CI drift gates are hermetic. The
generated headers are derived data tables, not translations of any OmniVoice
source code; the CrispASR runtime is an independent implementation.

src/core/omnivoice_audio.h separately ports the audio/text utilities from
omnivoice/utils/audio.py and omnivoice/utils/text.py at commit
08be0b4ccbac3e13e374e86fbfead4b4cac343e2. This standalone utility header is
currently exercised only by the diagnostic probe/oracle; the production
speech pipeline does not call it. The oracle retains the original source
headers and copyright notices. The Apache-2.0 license text is included at
third_party/omnivoice/LICENSE and is also available at
http://www.apache.org/licenses/LICENSE-2.0

────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
RUNTIME-ONLY COMPONENTS (not bundled in binaries)
────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

The following components may be loaded at runtime by the user but are NOT
statically or dynamically linked into the distributed CrispASR binaries.
Users who install these libraries on their system are solely responsible for
complying with their respective licenses.

  fdk-aac / libfdk-aac
License: Fraunhofer FDK AAC Codec Library License
Note: Loaded via dlopen if present. The Fraunhofer FDK AAC license
restricts commercial software distribution; users distributing software
that uses fdk-aac must obtain a separate commercial license from
Fraunhofer IIS. CrispASR itself does not link against fdk-aac.

  espeak-ng
    License: LGPL-3.0-or-later (source) + GPL-3.0 (voice data)
Note: Loaded via dlopen by default (-DCRISPASR_WITH_ESPEAK_NG=AUTO).
Building with -DCRISPASR_WITH_ESPEAK_NG=ON links espeak-ng at build
time, making the resulting binary a GPL-3.0 derivative that cannot be
    distributed under MIT-only terms.

WeSpeaker ResNet34-LM speaker embedding model — MODEL WEIGHTS
(https://huggingface.co/Wespeaker/wespeaker-voxceleb-resnet34-LM)
Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC-BY-4.0)
────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

CrispASR redistributes GGUF conversions of the WeSpeaker VoxCeleb ResNet34-LM
speaker-embedding weights, used by the `--diarize-method foxnose` diarizer
(issue #324).

  Source model : Wespeaker/wespeaker-voxceleb-resnet34-LM
  Upstream : https://github.com/wenet-e2e/wespeaker
  Licence : CC-BY-4.0 — https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/

CC-BY-4.0 permits redistribution and modification, including commercially,
PROVIDED attribution is given. This notice, and the `license: cc-by-4.0` tag
plus credit on the converted model card, constitute that attribution.

Note: some downstream projects describe these weights as Apache-2.0. That is
incorrect — the wenet-e2e/wespeaker CODE is Apache-2.0, but the published
WEIGHTS are CC-BY-4.0, which carries the attribution requirement above.

No source code from wenet-e2e/wespeaker or from FoxNoseTech/diarize (both
Apache-2.0) is incorporated into CrispASR. The GGUF converter, the ggml
runtime and the clustering stack are independent implementations written from
the published architecture and algorithms; the upstream packages are used only
as measurement oracles by the reference dumper, never vendored or linked.

NVIDIA Nemotron-3.5-ASR-Streaming-0.6B — MODEL WEIGHTS
(https://huggingface.co/nvidia/nemotron-3.5-asr-streaming-0.6b)
OpenMDW License Agreement v1.1
────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

The managed Nemotron ASR download is a cstr GGUF conversion of NVIDIA's model.
The pinned original and conversion model cards both identify OpenMDW-1.1 as
the governing model license. The runtime's MIT license does not replace it.
The complete agreement and model-origin notice accompany managed downloads
under nemotron-3.5-asr-streaming-0.6b/ and are retained in the source tree at
docs/nemotron-model-notices/. Redistribution of model materials must preserve
the agreement and applicable copyright and origin notices.

────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
NVIDIA Nemotron-3-Diarization (streaming Sortformer v3) — MODEL WEIGHTS
(https://huggingface.co/nvidia/Nemotron-3-Diarization)
OpenMDW License Agreement v1.1
────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

`--diarize-method sortformer` (issue #466) downloads NVIDIA's own
Nemotron-3-Diarization.q8_0.gguf from the model repo above;
models/convert-nemotron3-diar-to-gguf.py converts the same repo's safetensors
into that GGUF layout. OpenMDW-1.1 permits use, modification and
redistribution, including commercially; redistributions must carry the
licence and its notices.

  Source model : nvidia/Nemotron-3-Diarization
  Licence : OpenMDW-1.1 — https://openmdw.ai/license/1-1/

The ggml runtime in src/nemotron3_diar.cpp is an independent implementation.
Its offline chunk loop and Arrival-Order Speaker Cache follow the algorithm of
transformers' modeling_nemotron3_diarization.py (Apache-2.0, HuggingFace), which
is also the measurement oracle for tools/reference_backends/nemotron3_diar.py.
The GGUF tensor/metadata layout is the one NVIDIA's NeMo-Speech.cpp (Apache-2.0)
reads, so both runtimes load the same files; no NeMo-Speech.cpp code is vendored.

their upstream terms apply to the weights and any redistribution of them:

(The opus-mt-de-en model card is tagged apache-2.0 and opus-mt-en-de
cc-by-4.0. Both are the same opus-2020-02-26 release, and the project
states in both of its repositories — Helsinki-NLP/Opus-MT and
    Helsinki-NLP/OPUS-MT-train, checked 2026-10-06 — that its pre-trained
models are distributed under CC-BY 4.0; that statement is the one
followed here; the same holds for every other pair hosted here, all
from the same project.) Format conversions are hosted at
    https://huggingface.co/cstr/opus-mt-<src>-<tgt>-GGUF for 24 directions
    (de↔en, fr↔de, fr↔en, ar↔de, ar↔en, it↔de, it↔en, es↔de, es↔en, he↔de, en→he, he→en, tr→en, en→tr; he→en and en→tr from Helsinki-NLP/opus-mt-tc-big-*), under CC-BY-4.0 with

BERT-base-uncased conditioning companion
======================================

The BERT conditioning checkpoint used by MeloTTS has its own Apache-2.0
license, independently of the MeloTTS/OpenVoice MIT license above.

The CrispASR GGUF conversion retains encoder layers 0-9 and the vocabulary,
removes the unused final layers and masked-language-model head, and stores
linear weights at F16 or explicitly selected quantized precision. This is a
format/precision conversion of the original pretrained conditioning weights.
The companion license is retained verbatim below.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR USE, REPRODUCTION, AND DISTRIBUTION

   1. Definitions.

"License" shall mean the terms and conditions for use, reproduction,
and distribution as defined by Sections 1 through 9 of this document.

"Licensor" shall mean the copyright owner or entity authorized by
the copyright owner that is granting the License.

"Legal Entity" shall mean the union of the acting entity and all
other entities that control, are controlled by, or are under common
control with that entity. For the purposes of this definition,
"control" means (i) the power, direct or indirect, to cause the
direction or management of such entity, whether by contract or
otherwise, or (ii) ownership of fifty percent (50%) or more of the
outstanding shares, or (iii) beneficial ownership of such entity.

"You" (or "Your") shall mean an individual or Legal Entity
exercising permissions granted by this License.

"Source" form shall mean the preferred form for making modifications,
including but not limited to software source code, documentation
      source, and configuration files.

"Object" form shall mean any form resulting from mechanical
transformation or translation of a Source form, including but
not limited to compiled object code, generated documentation,
and conversions to other media types.

"Work" shall mean the work of authorship, whether in Source or
Object form, made available under the License, as indicated by a
copyright notice that is included in or attached to the work
(an example is provided in the Appendix below).

"Derivative Works" shall mean any work, whether in Source or Object
form, that is based on (or derived from) the Work and for which the
editorial revisions, annotations, elaborations, or other modifications
represent, as a whole, an original work of authorship. For the purposes
of this License, Derivative Works shall not include works that remain
separable from, or merely link (or bind by name) to the interfaces of,
the Work and Derivative Works thereof.

"Contribution" shall mean any work of authorship, including
the original version of the Work and any modifications or additions
to that Work or Derivative Works thereof, that is intentionally
submitted to Licensor for inclusion in the Work by the copyright owner
or by an individual or Legal Entity authorized to submit on behalf of
the copyright owner. For the purposes of this definition, "submitted"
means any form of electronic, verbal, or written communication sent
to the Licensor or its representatives, including but not limited to
communication on electronic mailing lists, source code control systems,
and issue tracking systems that are managed by, or on behalf of, the
Licensor for the purpose of discussing and improving the Work, but
excluding communication that is conspicuously marked or otherwise
designated in writing by the copyright owner as "Not a Contribution."

"Contributor" shall mean Licensor and any individual or Legal Entity
on behalf of whom a Contribution has been received by Licensor and
      subsequently incorporated within the Work.

   2. Grant of Copyright License. Subject to the terms and conditions of
this License, each Contributor hereby grants to You a perpetual,
      worldwide, non-exclusive, no-charge, royalty-free, irrevocable
copyright license to reproduce, prepare Derivative Works of,
publicly display, publicly perform, sublicense, and distribute the
Work and such Derivative Works in Source or Object form.

   3. Grant of Patent License. Subject to the terms and conditions of
this License, each Contributor hereby grants to You a perpetual,
      worldwide, non-exclusive, no-charge, royalty-free, irrevocable
(except as stated in this section) patent license to make, have made,
use, offer to sell, sell, import, and otherwise transfer the Work,
where such license applies only to those patent claims licensable
by such Contributor that are necessarily infringed by their
Contribution(s) alone or by combination of their Contribution(s)
with the Work to which such Contribution(s) was submitted. If You
institute patent litigation against any entity (including a
cross-claim or counterclaim in a lawsuit) alleging that the Work
or a Contribution incorporated within the Work constitutes direct
or contributory patent infringement, then any patent licenses
granted to You under this License for that Work shall terminate
as of the date such litigation is filed.

   4. Redistribution. You may reproduce and distribute copies of the
Work or Derivative Works thereof in any medium, with or without
modifications, and in Source or Object form, provided that You
      meet the following conditions:

      (a) You must give any other recipients of the Work or
Derivative Works a copy of this License; and

      (b) You must cause any modified files to carry prominent notices
stating that You changed the files; and

      (c) You must retain, in the Source form of any Derivative Works
that You distribute, all copyright, patent, trademark, and
attribution notices from the Source form of the Work,
excluding those notices that do not pertain to any part of
          the Derivative Works; and

      (d) If the Work includes a "NOTICE" text file as part of its
distribution, then any Derivative Works that You distribute must
include a readable copy of the attribution notices contained
within such NOTICE file, excluding those notices that do not
pertain to any part of the Derivative Works, in at least one
of the following places: within a NOTICE text file distributed
as part of the Derivative Works; within the Source form or
documentation, if provided along with the Derivative Works; or,
within a display generated by the Derivative Works, if and
wherever such third-party notices normally appear. The contents
of the NOTICE file are for informational purposes only and
do not modify the License. You may add Your own attribution
notices within Derivative Works that You distribute, alongside
or as an addendum to the NOTICE text from the Work, provided
that such additional attribution notices cannot be construed
          as modifying the License.

You may add Your own copyright statement to Your modifications and
may provide additional or different license terms and conditions
for use, reproduction, or distribution of Your modifications, or
for any such Derivative Works as a whole, provided Your use,
reproduction, and distribution of the Work otherwise complies with
the conditions stated in this License.

   5. Submission of Contributions. Unless You explicitly state otherwise,
any Contribution intentionally submitted for inclusion in the Work
by You to the Licensor shall be under the terms and conditions of
this License, without any additional terms or conditions.
Notwithstanding the above, nothing herein shall supersede or modify
the terms of any separate license agreement you may have executed
      with Licensor regarding such Contributions.

   6. Trademarks. This License does not grant permission to use the trade
names, trademarks, service marks, or product names of the Licensor,
except as required for reasonable and customary use in describing the
origin of the Work and reproducing the content of the NOTICE file.

   7. Disclaimer of Warranty. Unless required by applicable law or
agreed to in writing, Licensor provides the Work (and each
Contributor provides its Contributions) on an "AS IS" BASIS,
WITHOUT WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS OF ANY KIND, either express or
implied, including, without limitation, any warranties or conditions
of TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, MERCHANTABILITY, or FITNESS FOR A
PARTICULAR PURPOSE. You are solely responsible for determining the
appropriateness of using or redistributing the Work and assume any
risks associated with Your exercise of permissions under this License.

   8. Limitation of Liability. In no event and under no legal theory,
whether in tort (including negligence), contract, or otherwise,
unless required by applicable law (such as deliberate and grossly
negligent acts) or agreed to in writing, shall any Contributor be
liable to You for damages, including any direct, indirect, special,
incidental, or consequential damages of any character arising as a
result of this License or out of the use or inability to use the
Work (including but not limited to damages for loss of goodwill,
work stoppage, computer failure or malfunction, or any and all
other commercial damages or losses), even if such Contributor
has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

   9. Accepting Warranty or Additional Liability. While redistributing
the Work or Derivative Works thereof, You may choose to offer,
and charge a fee for, acceptance of support, warranty, indemnity,
or other liability obligations and/or rights consistent with this
License. However, in accepting such obligations, You may act only
on Your own behalf and on Your sole responsibility, not on behalf
of any other Contributor, and only if You agree to indemnify,
defend, and hold each Contributor harmless for any liability
incurred by, or claims asserted against, such Contributor by reason
of your accepting any such warranty or additional liability.

   END OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS

APPENDIX: How to apply the Apache License to your work.

To apply the Apache License to your work, attach the following
boilerplate notice, with the fields enclosed by brackets "[]"
replaced with your own identifying information. (Don't include
the brackets!) The text should be enclosed in the appropriate
comment syntax for the file format. We also recommend that a
file or class name and description of purpose be included on the
same "printed page" as the copyright notice for easier
      identification within third-party archives.
