Operation

An Operation groups related Mission Plans for planning and tracking. A mission can belong to more than one operation.

Create an operation

  1. Open Operations and select Add.
  2. Enter a unique name and select its status: Planning, Active, Complete, or Archived.
  3. Optionally enter dates, point of contact, tasked unit, and area of responsibility.
  4. Select the participating missions.
  5. Optionally associate Map Tile Sets and choose a preferred basemap for the AOR, then save. The preferred map is included implicitly even if it is not selected in Map Tile Sets.

If dates are supplied, the end date must be on or after the start date. Selecting a mission does not change its status or coordinates.

Use the Operations filter on the Operational Map to show the selected operation's mapped missions. Users must have permission to view the operation and its individual missions. Create a Comms Card to record the operation's channel plan.

The map prefers the selected operations' available basemaps while retaining other permitted maps in the selector. Atlas access is checked independently of operation access. See operation basemap selection.
