normal_from_reflection — 3D optics op

Data kinds: vector × vectorvector

Call: import match3d; match3d.normal_from_reflection(incident, reflected) (or ops3d.get("normal_from_reflection"))

Usage

Recover a mirror surface's normal from the incident and reflected rays (deflectometry). n ∝ (r − d), pointing against the incident ray.

References (sample data, literature)

• Sample-data catalog (download URLs / licences) — 2-D uses skimage.data (BSD/public domain) plus synthetic images; 3-D lists download URLs for real data sources (Stanford, PDS, …).

• Operator provenance and references — the sources of the research/methods this op family came from.
