diameter_region — 2D features op

Data kinds: regionfeature

Call: fullseye.apply(img, "diameter_region", a=0.5, b=0.5) (the 2-D model is one image plus two scalar knobs a,b∈[0,1])

HALCON equivalent: diameter_region (the HALCON reference is a useful guide to its meaning and parameters)

Usage

The equivalent diameter (the diameter of a circle with the same area) normalized by the region's longest side length (`regionprops's equivalent_diameter_area). Strictly speaking, this is a different metric from the "maximum distance between two boundary points" defined by HALCON's diameter_region` (Maximal distance between two boundary points of a region.) -- an approximation using the equivalent-circle diameter.

• Sample-data catalog (download URLs / licences) — 2-D uses skimage.data (BSD/public domain) plus synthetic images; 3-D lists download URLs for real data sources (Stanford, PDS, …).
