tb_lf_epi — 2D typed op

Data kinds: lightfieldimage

Call: fullseye.apply(img, "tb_lf_epi", a=0.5, b=0.5) (the 2-D model is one image plus two scalar knobs a,b∈[0,1])

Usage

Epipolar-plane image — the slice whose line slope is the disparity.

An EPI is what makes a light field different from a pile of photographs: fix

one image row and one angular row, and every scene point traces a *straight

line* whose gradient `dx/du is exactly its slope s`. Occlusion becomes

one line crossing in front of another, which is why EPI methods handle it

better than window matching.

• `axis="u" (horizontal): fix v = view` (default: the centre row,

`(V-1)//2) and image row y = index; returns E[u, x]` of shape

`(U, W)`.

• `axis="v" (vertical): fix u = view and image column x = index`;

returns `E[v, y] of shape (V, H)`.

Raises `ValueError`: *lf* not a valid light field, unknown *axis*,

*index* outside the spatial extent, *view* outside the angular extent.

Typed bridge of the lightfield op `lf_epi into the 2-D evolution registry: the same implementation, called under the op(v, a, b) convention. This op has no tunable parameter; a and b` are unused.
