xmh_soft — 2D intensity-transform op

Call: fullseye.apply(img, "xmh_soft", a=0.5, b=0.5) (the 2-D model is one image plus two scalar knobs a,b∈[0,1])

Usage

Soft thresholding (`mahotas.thresholding.soft_threshold`, shrinkage). Collapses pixels whose absolute value is below the threshold to 0, and shifts the rest toward 0 by the threshold amount. Applies a technique commonly used for wavelet/sparse-signal denoising directly to pixel values.
