Story heights - Level 1: 11'-0" (lobby); Levels 2-6: 9'-6"; top of wall 58'-6"
Analysis procedure - ELF; SDC D
Design standards - AISI S100, AISI S240, AISI S400, ASCE 7
Project - Select-service hotel, 6 stories

## Material Properties
- CFS members: **ASTM A1003 Gr. 50, Fy = 50 ksi** (bearing studs, chords, joists)
- Shear-wall sheathing: **0.030 in. or 0.033 in. steel sheet** (agent to select per story), ONE OR TWO SIDES per line per story (agent to determine and state the basis; AISI S400 same-material summing rules apply), No. 8 screws
- Floors: CFS joists @ 16 in. o.c. + 3/4 in. WSP + 1 1/2 in. gyp-crete; corridor floors same
- Roof: flat, CFS joists, membrane; rooftop mechanical zone (see loads)
- Screws ASTM C1513; continuous rod hold-down system assumed

## Gravity Loads
| Load Type | Magnitude |
|------------|-----------|
| Floor Dead Load | 38 psf (hotel: extra acoustic mat) |
| Roof Dead Load | 22 psf; +25 psf mechanical allowance over the middle 40' x 30' of the north bar roof |
| Cladding | 18 psf (EIFS + masonry accent at Level 1) |
| Floor Live Load | 40 psf guestrooms + 15 psf partitions; 100 psf corridors & Level 1 public; reducible |
| Roof Live | 20 psf Lr |

## Seismic / Wind Design Data
- SDS = 1.00 g, SD1 = 0.52 g, Site Class D, Risk Cat II, Ie = 1.0, SDC D
- CFS walls w/ steel sheet: **R = 6.5, Cd = 4, Omega_0 = 3**; 65-ft SDC D limit (58.5 ft OK - tight; parapet excluded, agent to confirm hn definition)
- Wind: V = 110 mph, Exposure C. Check both; seismic likely governs.
- Diaphragms flexible (light-frame); tributary distribution.

## Building Plan Geometry (Z-PLAN)
- North bar: 150'-0" (E-W) x 58'-0" (N-S); occupies the WEST 150 ft
- South bar: 150'-0" (E-W) x 58'-0" (N-S); offset EAST by 90'-0" and shifted south so its north wall coincides with the north bar's south wall over the 60'-0" overlap length
- Corridor jog connects the bars within the 60' x 8' overlap zone (open plan connection - diaphragms of the two bars are continuous only through this narrow throat)
- Two re-entrant corners (Type 2); the narrow throat is also a diaphragm opening/discontinuity concern
- Guestroom cross walls @ 13'-0" o.c. in each bar (available as shear wall lines); double-loaded corridors on each bar centerline

## Shear-Wall Layout (Type I steel-sheet; stacked Levels 1-6)
E-W: exterior long walls: segments 2'-8" to 4'-0" wide BETWEEN guestroom windows (aspect ratios h/w between 2:1 and 4:1 - apply the 2w/h reduction per AISI S400 for h/w > 2; 4:1 max); corridor walls: 8 segments x 8'-0" per corridor wall per bar (door-free zones)
N-S: guestroom party walls EVERY line (~13 ft o.c.): 2 segments x 14'-0" per line per bar; end walls of each bar: 3 x 10'-0" segments
THROAT: both sides of the 60' overlap get dedicated 10'-0" N-S segments (collector boundary)

## Member / System Design Requirements (agent outputs)
- Steel-sheet thickness + fastener schedule per story per line; note S400 requires sheet steel shear walls designed for capacity-limited connection/chord/anchorage forces (expected wall strength)
- Chord studs: built-up box (stud+track) at high-aspect segments; cumulative 6-story overturning
- Continuous rod hold-down run: incremental tension per level; bearing plates; shrinkage/take-up devices
- Stud step-down schedule (6 tiers max); track to match
- Collectors across the throat (both diaphragm chords interrupted): Omega_0 forces
- Drift: amplified vs 0.025hsx; high-aspect steel-sheet walls are drift-critical - report per-story
