# dbnomics-fetcher-toolbox

> **Deprecated package: use [`dbnomics-toolbox`](https://pypi.org/project/dbnomics-toolbox/) instead.**

This package used to be the toolbox of functions and data types helping writing DBnomics fetchers.
It has been renamed to [`dbnomics-toolbox`](https://pypi.org/project/dbnomics-toolbox/), where its development continues.

**Do not install or depend on `dbnomics-fetcher-toolbox` in a new project.**

- New package: <https://pypi.org/project/dbnomics-toolbox/>
- New source code and issues: <https://git.nomics.world/dbnomics/dbnomics-toolbox>
- New documentation: <https://dbnomics-toolbox.readthedocs.io/>

## Why this release exists

The last stable release published under this name (0.0.9, October 2020) predates the rename, and this name's version numbering is misleading: `pip install dbnomics-fetcher-toolbox` resolves to 0.0.9, because the later releases published under this name were pre-releases (`1.0.0b*`), which `pip` ignores by default.

Release 0.0.10 contains exactly the same code as 0.0.9 and changes nothing but this notice; it exists so that `pip install dbnomics-fetcher-toolbox` gets a version whose description points to the replacement package.

## Migration

```bash
pip uninstall dbnomics-fetcher-toolbox
pip install dbnomics-toolbox
```

The import name changed from `dbnomics_fetcher_toolbox` to `dbnomics_toolbox`, and the API changed: see the [documentation of dbnomics-toolbox](https://dbnomics-toolbox.readthedocs.io/) and the [fetcher tutorial](https://dbnomics-toolbox.readthedocs.io/tutorial/).
