# exmergo-dex (reserved placeholder)

This name is reserved by Exmergo. The dex analytics-engineering engine is
published as **[exmergo-dex-core](https://pypi.org/project/exmergo-dex-core/)**.

```
pip install "exmergo-dex-core[duckdb]"
dex demo
dex explore map
```

`dex demo` generates a small local warehouse to try it against, so the first run
needs no credentials and no network.

Extras keep their names on the real package: `exmergo-dex[ossie]` is
`exmergo-dex-core[ossie]`, and the same holds for every connector extra.

dex is the agent-native analytics engineering toolkit: explore a warehouse,
transform raw data into dbt models and a semantic layer (dbt's own, or native
Apache Ossie documents), and maintain all of it as the data drifts. See
[github.com/exmergo/dex](https://github.com/exmergo/dex).
