**One command to download almost anything. Paste a URL, done.**

## Install

```bash
pip install jackthesolo
```

## Use

```bash
jackthesolo "URL"
```

Files land in `~/Downloads`. The URL type is auto-detected. No Tor needed —
downloads are direct by default.

```bash
jackthesolo "https://www.tiktok.com/@u/video/123" --cookies cookies.txt
jackthesolo "https://vt.tiktok.com/XXXXxxxXX/" --cookies cookies.txt
jackthesolo "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=..." --cookies yt_cookies.txt
jackthesolo "https://www.scribd.com/document/123/Title"
jackthesolo "https://…/shared?..." --cookies cookies.txt --output-file Document.pdf
jackthesolo "URL" -a
jackthesolo "URL" -q 720
jackthesolo "URL" --info
jackthesolo "https://www.tiktok.com/@u" --cookies cookies.txt --max 5
jackthesolo "https://www.tiktok.com/@u" --json --dry-run --max 50
jackthesolo "https://www.tiktok.com/@u" --json --pick 2 --cookies cookies.txt
jackthesolo --check
```

Profile/playlist URLs list every item with its date, views, likes and
length, then one prompt lets you pick what to download: `2`, `1,3-5`,
Enter = all, `q` = cancel. Skip the prompt with `--pick 2` (or `1,3-5`,
`all`).

Machine-readable mode: `--json` writes JSONL events to stdout, no banner
and no prompts. A listing starts with `{"event":"listing"}` followed by one
`{"event":"item"}` per item (id, url, title, description, timestamp,
duration, views, likes, comments, reposts, saves, track, thumbnails);
downloads add `item_start`, `item_done`, `item_skipped`, `item_failed` and
a final `summary`. Exit codes stay the same.

Batch listings read like a track list: a `♪` header with the account name,
one numbered line per item with dimmed metadata, and `▶` / `✓` markers on
the download rows. Markers use a Spotify-style green on color terminals,
and the green adapts when `COLORFGBG` says the background is light. Colors
turn off when stdout is piped, and whenever `NO_COLOR` is set.

Need cookies? Open the site logged in, export with the
"Get cookies.txt LOCALLY" extension, then pass `--cookies cookies.txt`.
Never share your cookie files.

Stuck? Run `jackthesolo --check`, or read `man jackthesolo`.

## Other shells and devices

Same commands work in PowerShell (`pwsh`), with one note: use `man`
only on Linux (on Windows read `--help` instead).

Optional anonymity: install Tor, then add `--tor` (Linux:
`sudo systemctl start tor`; Windows: Tor Browser or Expert Bundle with
`--proxy socks5h://127.0.0.1:9150`). `--paranoid` enforces a proven
Tor/proxy route and refuses login cookies.

On Android (Termux), install the basics first:

```bash
pkg install python ffmpeg
pip install jackthesolo
```

What works there: direct files and media downloads (yt-dlp). What likely
does not: browser modes (cloud, scribd) need desktop Chromium, and the
TikTok engine needs `curl-cffi` which has no Android build.
Termux is untested, reports welcome.
