The Fermi GBM team reports the detection of a likely LONG GRB

At 10:54:33 UT on 1 May 2024, the Fermi Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (GBM) triggered and located GRB 240501A (trigger 736253678.962802 / 240501455).

The on-ground calculated location, using the Fermi GBM trigger data, is RA = 257.2, Dec = 26.5 (J2000 degrees, equivalent to J2000 17h 08m, 26d 30'), with a statistical uncertainty of 2.5 degrees.

The angle from the Fermi LAT boresight is 95.0 degrees.
