The Fermi GBM team reports the detection of a likely LONG GRB

At 08:32:57 UT on 21 Jul 2024, the Fermi Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (GBM) triggered and located GRB 240721A (trigger 743243582.02364 / 240721356).

The on-ground calculated location, using the Fermi GBM trigger data, is RA = 122.2, Dec = 7.1 (J2000 degrees, equivalent to J2000 08h 08m, 7d 05'), with a statistical uncertainty of 8.8 degrees.

The angle from the Fermi LAT boresight is 101.0 degrees.
