The Fermi GBM team reports the detection of a likely LONG GRB

At 19:06:02 UT on 4 Aug 2024, the Fermi Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (GBM) triggered and located GRB 240804A (trigger 744491167.353348 / 240804796).

The on-ground calculated location, using the Fermi GBM trigger data, is RA = 266.5, Dec = 59.8 (J2000 degrees, equivalent to J2000 17h 45m, 59d 47'), with a statistical uncertainty of 3.7 degrees.

The angle from the Fermi LAT boresight is 21.0 degrees.
