The Fermi GBM team reports the detection of a likely LONG GRB

At 02:14:40 UT on 12 Aug 2024, the Fermi Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (GBM) triggered and located GRB 240812A (trigger 745121685.425302 / 240812094).

The on-ground calculated location, using the Fermi GBM trigger data, is RA = 29.2, Dec = -63.6 (J2000 degrees, equivalent to J2000 01h 56m, -63d 36'), with a statistical uncertainty of 1.0 degrees.

The angle from the Fermi LAT boresight is 168.0 degrees.
