The Fermi GBM team reports the detection of a likely SHORT GRB

At 01:45:33 UT on 16 Oct 2024, the Fermi Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (GBM) triggered and located GRB 241016A (trigger 750735938.513756 / 241016073).

The on-ground calculated location, using the Fermi GBM trigger data, is RA = 70.6, Dec = 12.1 (J2000 degrees, equivalent to J2000 04h 42m, 12d 05'), with a statistical uncertainty of 14.7 degrees.

The angle from the Fermi LAT boresight is 129.0 degrees.
