  Version banners for the mike-versioned site (see "Publishing the docs" in
  CONTRIBUTING.md). Every version is built from its release/* branch, and
  `extra.prerelease` (set by the deploy from the branch's version) decides its
  banner:

  - pre-release builds (extra.prerelease: true) always show the announce banner;
  - release builds show Material's "outdated" banner, which its JavaScript
    reveals only when the version being viewed is not the default (`latest`).

  The `-` whitespace control matters: Material renders a banner whenever the
  block's output is non-empty, so stray whitespace would draw an empty one.
