Files in this directory are verbatim, byte-identical copies from Springer
Nature's official LaTeX author-support kit ("journal article template
package", December 2024 version), downloaded 2026-07-11 from:

License: LaTeX Project Public License (LPPL), version 1.3c or later.

    - sn-jnl.cls carries the standard docstrip-generated LPPL 1.3c header
("It may be distributed and/or modified under the conditions of the
      LaTeX Project Public License...").
    - sn-mathphys-num.bst and sn-mathphys-ay.bst each carry their own LPPL
header (Springer generated its sn-*.bst family with Patrick W. Daly's
      `custom-bib` toolkit, itself LPPL-licensed).

LPPL explicitly permits redistribution of unmodified copies -- that is the
license every CTAN mirror and TeX distribution relies on to redistribute
LaTeX packages and classes at all. These three files are unmodified byte-
for-byte copies of the originals (verified with `cmp` at vendoring time);
none have been edited. If they are ever modified, LPPL requires renaming
per clause 6 of the license (https://www.latex-project.org/lppl.txt).

Not vendored: the other six sn-*.bst styles included in the official kit
(sn-basic, sn-aps, sn-vancouver-num, sn-vancouver-ay, sn-apacite,
sn-chicago) and sn-nature.bst. This journal's manifest.yaml only declares
`numeric` (sn-mathphys-num) and `authoryear` (sn-mathphys-ay) citation
modes -- see manifest.yaml's comments for why sn-mathphys was chosen as the
general default. Nothing in this template references the unvendored files.
